Our Story

UPDATE: My workroom is now located in the beautiful Bakery Square at the corner of East Washington St. and Webster St. in Butchertown! Although it is not a retail location, I do take appointments if you have something purchased elsewhere that you would like to have monogrammed! I also offer local pick up on orders placed through the website.

You’re Sew Vain was established in 2003 as a result of an obsession with beautiful fabrics, a passion for creating beautiful things, and the desire to turn something ordinary into something extraordinary—-one-of-a-kind.

It became a brick and mortar store in 2005 and, in 2011, my life changed drastically when my granddaughter arrived! She became my newest obsession, so remaining committed to retail store hours was no longer possible. The retail store was closed and I began working from my home doing embroidery for existing customers and acquired lots of new customers through referrals.

Two years and a grandson later, I began to miss the retail aspect of the job I so dearly loved. I missed the search for new and exciting things to personalize. How could I spend these precious times with my grandbabies and yet still fulfill my love for all things beautifully personalized??

Weeks later, a dear friend and I got in the car and drove to the market in Atlanta. Oh, how I missed that place! How I missed the long days and hours of going from booth to booth and showroom to showroom, marveling at the new products and trying to envision how much more interesting something would be if it were personalized!

After that trip, I decided that I HAD to get back into the retail business without the overhead and dedicated hours it would take to open another storefront. Launching a website was the perfect avenue to do just that! So, here it is! Please browse around and check out all the fun, beautiful, functional products we have selected for you.

You’re Sew Vain is not just my business. It’s a way of life around here. If you order from this website, there’s a good chance that one of my precious grand babies has fetched the thread color you’ve chosen, or ever so gently enclosed your packing slip into your shipment, or “helped” me tape up the box! Lots of patience, love, and learning experiences have gone into your order!

Thanks so much! Hope you love it as much as we do!
